The mysterious wave battling Pokémon, Lucario, arrives on the Brawl stage! He is a fighter with a will as strong as steel!

His style of battling is unique, but strong. One should expect no less from a Fighting-type Pokémon.

NAME: Lucario
FIRST APPEARANCE: Pokémon Diamond/Pearl (Nintendo DS, 2006)
SERIES: Pokémon
LOGO: Poké Ball

So, here's the third Smash Profile!

I've been playing an absolute ton of Pokémon Pearl over the last few months, and, in my usual fantasizing about Brawl, I weighed the option of how Pokémon series would be represented in the newest Smash Bros. game. In Melee, all we had were the first two generations, Red-Blue-Yellow and Gold-Silver-Crystal. Since the advent of Melee, two generations of Pokémon have been ushered into the gaming consciousness, so they'd seem ripe to appear in Brawl. So far, I've only seen Pokémon from generations 1-3 appear in Brawl. This worries me.

Hence, the newest generation of Pokémon must be represented. But who was to do the job? I opted for Manaphy, but I never really saw the prince of the sea as much of a battler. He'd be better-suited as a Poké Ball Legendary, using some sort of tricky attack or support for the character than threw his ball.

Then, I remembered Lucario, one of the rising stars of the Pokémon world. This Anubis-looking chap seems to be gaining more and more polularity in his field. Lucario seems all too perfect for Brawl. He brings fighting spirit infused with the power of steel to the game! And he does all of this without having Legendary status, which is also pretty neat.

Plus, he had a movie based around him (like Manaphy, but we've already discussed him). I have a feeling that Mewtwo and Pichu got in because they were in a couple of the movies. So, if they can get in due to movie appearaces, why not Lucario?

I also had another Pokémon character planned. I was going to to a Smash Profile for Deoxys, the Legendary DNA Pokémon, as well. I had everything planned out; I had created a moveset, a Final Smash, drawn a picture of Deoxys posing. All I had to do was trace it and place it.

That was, until this appeared on the Smash Bros. site.

Wow, you must've really thought this one out. Great job. I'm hoping for Lucario in Brawl as well.

Nice! Though I must say, the Drain Punch seems a tad weak. What if the damage varied based on the time taken to connect the attack?

HELLZ YEAH. I'd play Lucario/Rukario.

Deoxys would've been UNSTOPPABLE if he/she/it were a playable character... o___O

I wanted Drain Punch to be a somewhat low-damage attack, so Lucario only healed a slight amount. I mean, if Drain Punch did 40% damage and healed 20% points of Lucario's health, I think that'd be a bit cheap, no?

You got a point there...
But I mean, if possible, don't make the max damage something as high as 15%.

While Lucario could work in Brawl, I'm more of a Blaziken fan myself. Altough, you know, both COULD work...Anyway, you have some truely awsome ideas for a moveset there.

It's cool how you used all Pokemon attacks...

Although, Blaze Kick would make a better Down+B...
