Another round of Kirby Hats for the Smash Bros. fans! When considering characters this time around, I realized that I had been doing just heroes. No good hero is without a villian to complete them, so this edition of Kirby's Hats is revolves around villians and rivals.

Before I begin, I'd like to offer this disclaimer once again:

AS FAR AS I KNOW, NONE OF THESE CHARACTERS (AS OF TODAY, 6/28/06) HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED AS PLAYABLE IN SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL. THEY ARE ALL WISHFUL THINKING ON MY BEHALF.

Bowser Jr.: Despite the infamous rumor, I've decided to add Bowser Jr. to the roster. Another Mario character, this little guy is one of Bowser's kids (including Bowser Jr., he has eight:O_o:). Bowser Jr. made his first appearance in Super Mario Sunshine wielding a magic paintbrush, and he could hypothetically use that same paintbrush as a method of weaponry in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

But wait! Who's the Kirby behind him? That would be Kirby if he swallowed Shadow Mario, a possible transformation of Bowser Jr. Shadow Mario could be a Mario clone, but he'd have at least one different move.

Vaati: Now for a rather obscure character from the Legend of Zelda series. Vaati is an evil wind sorcerer and the main villain of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords and The Legend of Zelda: the Minish Cap. The design for this Kirby hat is based off of his more humanoid Minish form.

My figuring for Vaati is that he could use a number of wind attacks, but he'd use no weaponry (I don't believe that Vaati was a swordsman). He could float somewhat like Mewtwo (but he'd have a bit more stability, of course), and his Super Attack could involve transforming into his giant, "floating eye" form to wreak havoc.

Samurai Goroh: Even though Goroh's not really a villain, he's welcome anyway. Samurai Goroh is from the F-Zero series, and is one of Captain Falcon's many rivals. A former bounty hunter (like Captain Falcon was), he's always looking to beat Captain Falcon.

As for Samurai Goroh, I would give him Melee Ganondorf's old fighting engine (for those of you who didn't know, Ganondorf in Super Smash Bros. Melee was, in layman's terms, a heavier, much stronger clone of Captain Falcon), with a couple of different moves (he could use his katana rather than fistfighting with certain moves).

About his logo: I highly doubt that Samurai Goroh would use Captain Falcon's logo. I couldn't find a good idea for a neutral F-Zero logo. ^^;

King Dedede: Once again, we have a characcter who's not really that much of a villain. Sure, he has villainous tendencies, but he's actually kind of a buffoon. Anyway, King Dedede is Kirby's main antagonist throughout the Kirby series of games, but he does fight alongside him for one game (Kirby 64: the Crystal Shards).

Hypothetically, Dedede could have some of Kirby's moves. He could swallow enemies like Kirby does, but he couldn't copy them. Instead, he could charge them up and spit them back out. Dedede also has a hammer that he could use to attack. As for his weight, he'd be slower and heavier than Kirby.

And this edition's Third-Party Pick is...

Nightmare: Perhaps one of the most popular characters in Soul Calibur 2, Nightmare is certainly a good villian to add to the roster. For those of you who don't know who Nightmare is, Nightmare is basically the part of the blade known as Soul Edge that took over the body of a warrior named Siegfried. Nightmare is a killing machine, always in a neverending quest to feed upon the souls of the living.

Nightmare in Brawl could be a potential terror to his opponents. He would be fairly slow (not Ganondorf-slow, but a tad faster) and immensely powerful. Most of his attacks could be sword-based, minus some that could be fist-based or energy attacks.

--------------------
And don't think that I'm out of ideas just yet. As a matter of fact, I have the next two Kirby's Hats pictures planned out, and each one will have six Kirbys rather than the usual five. After that, I think I might stop making Kirby Hats, but I'll be doing a big picture of the entire Melee cast, the new Brawl characters, and each character of which I have made a Kirby hat.

I don't know about you, but I feel as though the population of female characters in Smash Bros. universe is unusually low. There's only Samus, Peach, Nana (of the Ice Climbers), Zelda, and Jigglypuff (though Jig's gender is questionable). Only 1/5 (5 out of 25) of the current cast (Zero Suit Samus is part of Samus, and Shiek is part of Zelda, so technically, they've already been listed) is female, and I just don't like that. It's just too low of a number and too one-sided of a ratio. Having this in mind, I have the next idea for Kirby's Hats...

Next up: SSBB Kirby's Hat's 4th Edition- Femme Fatales!

Actually, I haven't really considered Jill. Maybe I could fit seven into the picture...

Your Nightmare idea is awesome! But I suggest you really check out the Soul Calibur III version! He rocks in his new outfit and the soul edge!

I was thinking that as well, because I think the Soul Calibur 3 version surpasses the Soul Calibur 2 Nightmare.

The only x-factor in this is that Soul Calibur 3 never came out on the Gamecube. The primary rule for a third-party character to appear in SSBB is that they had to have appeared in a game for a Nintendo system (FYI, Snake is valid because appeared in the first few Metal Gear games for the NES).

Since the only Soul Calibur game for any Nintendo system (let alone the Gamecube) is Soul Calibur 2, only that iteration of Nightmare could be allowed to appear in SSBB.

Oh I see. I got the part on "only a game that has been published for a Nintendo counsel can play." I had no idea Soul Calibur 3 wasn't playable for the Gamecube. Must be Link's special appearance that allowed Soul Calibur 2 to be published for the Gamecube. Oh well. Thanks for the info.

Yay, Vaati! It would be so awesome if he really made it into Brawl. :D

Knowledge is power, and power corrupts, so study hard and be evil! :evillaugh:
:iconrueyeet:
I've been thinking it would be cool if Vaati could change between his human and eyeball-monster forms, like Zelda changes to Sheik in SSBM. In eyeball form, his attacks could be purely wind-based, and in human form his attacks could be magical. And the immobilize-enemy move could be "To stone with you!" :D
