Artist's Comments

It's been a while, hasn't it? Sorry I've been so tardy with the posting of art here, but I've been extremely busy with schoolwork and such.

Anyway, these are the Smash Bros. logos I've replicated using Illustrator. This entire set includes the official logos, as well as the ones based off of my ideas.

First Row (from left to right): Smash Bros., Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Yoshi, Kirby, Star Fox.

Second Row (from left to right): Pokémon, F-Zero, Mother/Earthbound, Ice Climber, Fire Emblem, Game & Watch, Kid Icarus, Wario

Third Row (from left to right): Metal Gear, Sonic, Animal Crossing, Nintendo DS, Pikmin (official version), Gyromite, Electroplankton

The Animal Crossing logo represents the Smashville stage, the Nintendo DS log represents the PictoChat stage, the Gyromite logo represents R.O.B., and the Electroplankton logo represents the Hanenbow stage.

Fourth Row (my ideas) (from left to right): Eternal Darkness, Golden Sun, Pikmin (my version), Mega Man, Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja, Radiant Silvergun/Ikaruga, Endless Ocean.

Eternal Darkness logo = my Alex Roivas profile
Golden Sun logo = my Isaac profile.
Mega Man logo = my Mega Man profile
Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja logo = my Goemon profile
Radiant Silvergun/Ikaruga logo = my Shinra profile.

The second Pikmin logo represents my Captain Olimar profile I made before Captain Olimar was revealed with his official logo. The Endless Ocean logo is a newer one, representing an idea for an Endless Ocean stage on which I've been working.

I apologize for the large size (dimension, not file size) of the picture, but I wanted to show off as much detail as possible. The DA version posted is 800 pixels wide, but feel free to download the 1200 pixels wide version. Please remember to give credit where credit is due if you decide to use these logos.

Not to nitpick or anything, I love the Endless Ocean one, and the fact that more people than me are still coming up with stages, characters and the like even after SSBB's release, but in Brawl, the Game & Watch symbol only has one bell: the lower one. Nothing too major or anything, though.

Nice, though you forgot the Subspace Emmisary Logo. But still nice.

I'd like to see that endless ocean stage. (Although I'm not sure I remember what Endless Ocean is). Kinda Wish I could do the icons for the characters -I- wanted (Admittedly, Goemon, Megaman and Alex ARE on my list, and I'd probably have chosen the same icons for them)

Upon reading this note, I double-checked the Dojo's symbol and, yes, you were correct. Funny how I didn't even notice the change until now. ^^;

Anyway, the logo is now altered to fit the new one. Also, I changed the Electroplankton logo, as that one was also a bit off.

Thank you, my life is so much better. Now I won't be kept up at night by extra bells on a Game & Watch logo. Actually, I still slept. I slept through severe weather, an earthquake, and Towel Day. Well, I didn't sleep through ALL of Towel Day...but you get the point.

Towel Day is a holiday falling on May 26th of every year for us fans of the English author Douglas Adams and his five-book series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (whereit explains such matters as how to see the wonders of the galaxy for no more than 30 Alterian Dollars a day) to celebrate the sheer madness of the whole thing. The "towel" is a refrence to the Guide, where a towel is one of the best items an intergalatic hitchhiker can have. Not only can you use it to keep warm, fend off bugs, drape it across your head in a desert, but a non-hitchhiker who sees your towel automatically assumesyou have dozens of other items in your possesion, and will be happy to replace any "lost" items. Except for the Vogons, of course, who hate hitchhikers. Downright nasty and stupid creatures. I won't explain them.

Towel Day has no special meaning outside of the celebrator's own twisted little mind, and there is no indication of the fact it's going on around you, except in Australia, where they actively promote it. But the series is very cool, and all the bizzare jokes are indeed the kind that makes you laugh out lound, and some even make you laugh so hard you start to cry. Most of the time, you never see it coming.
