What is an edition of "SSBB: Kirby's Hats" without a central theme? Apparently, it's this mishmash of seven characters. Seriously, I just added seven characters to my fantasy SSBB roster that are, pretty much, in no way similar whatsoever. There are, however, three third-party characters rather than the usual one this time around. With that being said, I present to you this piece: "SSBB: Kirby's Hats- Third-Party Bonanza!" Seriously, that's the best I could do. ^^;

Oh, goody! Here it comes! The same-old disclaimer!

AS FAR AS I KNOW, NONE OF THESE CHARACTERS (AS OF TODAY, 7/9/06) HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED AS PLAYABLE IN SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL. THEY ARE ALL WISHFUL THINKING ON MY BEHALF.

Now, let's introduce our players:

Deoxys: Deoxys is one of the newest Pokémon, and is considered to be the all-powerful psychic Pokémon from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Basically, Deoxys is to Ruby/Sapphire as Mewtwo was to Red/Blue.

In Pokémon R/S, Deoxys had the ability to change into multiple forms. There was his central form, a form based on Attack power, a form revolving around Defense, and a form that heightened Speed. It sounds good in the methodical, turn-based world of Pokémon, but in the fast-paced world of Smash Bros., changing forms constantly via button combos is just cumbersome. You'd spend so much time changing forms that you'd barely be able to attack, and BOOM! You're dead in the water, and your opponent strikes a victory pose.

Deoxys should not be a morphing character. I'd just give him some of his awesome moves (like Cosmic Power, Pursuit, and Hyper Beam), make sure he doesn't maneuver like Mewtwo in SSBM, and be done with it.

Waluigi: The ultimate filler character? Not for long, I believe. Waluigi first appeared in Mario Tennis to fill a vacant character slot, and he's been in Mario games ever since. Sure, he's never done much. He was just a character designed to fill slots. This saddens me. :(

I believe that Waluigi could have so much potential if he were given a chance to fight alongside the Smash Bros. Team. If Luigi was just a modified clone of Mario, then Waluigi can certainly be a modified clone of Wario. Of course, some moves would be changed from Wario to Waluigi, because personally, I don't see Waluigi as the type of person who would unleash a giant flatulence attack. Maybe they'd change it into some sort of smoke bomb...

Beat Agents: I wouldn't be surprised if this registered a few notches on the "WTF Scale." The Beat Agents are from a DS game in Japan called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! The plot of OTO revolves around a bunch of people who are going through their own individual troubles. Just when things get their darkest, the person in question shouts "Ouendan!" and the Beat Agents, a trifecta of male Spirit Team members (basically, masculine Japanese cheerleaders who dress in black trenchcoats) and cheer to music to raise the target's spirit and motivation, hence letting the target person overcome their troubles. I know, it sounds like a quirky, Japanese-only game, but it's actually coming to America as a game called Elite Beat Agents. It's been shown that Elite Beat Agents will have different lead characters (Ryuta, Saitou, and Suzuki will not be the main characters), which sucks, because the American Beat Agents look absolutely ridiculous. This is why I chose to make characters out of the Japanese Beat Agents rather than the American Beat Agents

Basically, the Beat Agents could be the new "WTF character," just as Mr. Game & Watch was to Super Smash Bros. Melee. The Beat Agents consist of three characters (which can be seen here): Ryuta (spiky red hair), Saitou (short black hair and eyepatch), and Suzuki (blond mohawk). These three won't play like the Ice Climbers; you'll only play as Ryuta (hence the hair for the Beat Agents' Kirby hat), but suring certain special attacks, Saitou and Suzuki appear. The Beat Agents' Super attack would be a musical sequence; press the right combination of buttons to unleash fury!

Little Mac: Another good suggestion for the Brawl roster, Little Mac is the underdog fighter from Punch-Out!!, the most famous boxing game for the NES. In Punch-Out!!, you play as Little Mac and compete against numerous fighters (such as Glass Joe and the infamous Soda Popinsky) for the right to fight Mike Tyson, the top of the top tier (let me reiterate that I love alliteration :D).

Another character with a completely malleable moveset? Why not? Little Mac could only punch in Punch-Out!! (obviously) so he could be given numerous moves that deal with boxing, including his trademark uppercut.

And this editions Third-Party Picks are...

Kalas: The main hero from Baten Kaitos. In Baten Kaitos, Kalas was on a quest for revenge against the murderer of his brother and grandfather. For more information about Kalas, follow this link.

Kalas is equipped a blade, and he could be another sword-wielder for Brawl. Instead of the standard sword-swinging fare, Kalas would use elementally-based sword attacks as his specials. I'd suggest giving him wings, but he lost them at the end of Baten Kaitos, so he wouldn't have them in Brawl.

Sonic: Do you really have to tell you who this guy is? He's Sonic the freaking Hedgehog! Fine, I'll tell you. Sonic the Hedgehog is the main mascot for Sega and the star of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, where he's usually trying to stop Dr. Robotnik (Dr. Eggman for the Sonic n00bs) from completing his evil schemes.

Finally, a character who could give Fox and Captain Falcon a run for their money in the speed department! Sonic has speed to offer, and his moves could revolve heavily around it. He could use his Light Speed Dash and Homing Attack, as well as other techniques. His Super attack is all-too obvious: say hello to Super Sonic!

Captain Commando: You might only know this guy from Marvel VS Capcom series, but Captain Commando has starred in his own game, also called Captain Commando. In it, Captain Commando and his three fellow commandos (Sho, Jennety, and Hoover) take down super-criminals and the evil mastermind known as Scumocide.

If you've played as Captain Commando in Marvel VS Capcom (or its sequel), then you'd have a pretty good idea of Cap's moveset. Captain Commando could use his trademark moves: Captain Fire (a straightforward fire blast), Captain Corridor (a blast of electricity similar to Pikachu's Thunder move in Melee), and Captain Kick (a fiery leaping kick). He could also call his three fellow commandos to assist him with attacks, and they could also be useful for his Super attack: the Captain Sword!

--------------------
Sadly enough, I think this is going to be the final edition of Kirby's hats, as I am out of good ideas for characters. Don't worry, because I've offered plenty of ideas and I don't regret a single one of them.

I'll still be doing Brawl artwork, and this is where my next piece comes into play. Next, I shall complete a piece displaying all 54 characters (the 26 characters in Melee, the 5 confirmed new characters in Brawl, and the 24 character ideas I've pitched).

Next up: SSBB: A Possibility...
